Do audiophile headphones ever show up in working producer setups, or do they stay in the hi-fi world?

There's a recurring split I notice between headphones that reviewers treat as reference-grade for critical listening and the ones that actually appear in producer interviews and studio breakdowns. High-end open-backs get serious praise for soundstage and imaging, but working producers seem to gravitate toward different tools entirely. Is that gap real, or are there specific models that cross over consistently enough to belong in both conversations?
