the m5 sits in an interesting position, one effect at a time, which sounds limiting until you realize that constraint forces you to commit. the modeled sounds vary in quality but several, particularly the tape echo and certain filter options, have enough character to change how you phrase. not a pedal that disappears into utility. the single-slot format is the whole design logic, and it mostly holds up.
