Does the ingredient overlap with your pantry actually matter more than the recipe itself?
Something I keep turning over: when a five-ingredient recipe becomes a genuine repeat, is the stickiness really about the recipe being well-constructed, or is it mostly just that you already own four of the five things on any given Tuesday? Because I feel like those are actually two different things that get credited to the same recipe. A dish can be brilliant in terms of how the flavors work together, but if one ingredient is slightly annoying to source, it just quietly falls out of rotation. And then a much simpler, less exciting recipe hangs around forever because it runs on pantry staples. Which one do you think drives the repeat factor more? And is there a five-ingredient recipe you make regularly that you think would survive if one of the easy ingredients got swapped for something harder to find?
